New coach at Oklahoma will be?

Mark Schultz? Can he do the job? A great resume' as a wrestler and not bad as a coach. But is he organized enough to do all the extra PR type stuff required?

Greg Randall moving from Boise State to Oklahoma? He has shown he can recruit and develop talent. Would be a good fit, but would he move to Oklahoma?

Mark Branch? Might move but still building the program in Wyoming. An OSU wrestler, would that keep him from taking the job at Oklahoma?

Sammy Henson? Has the reputation of flaking out after a couple years and has anger management problems. Not head coach material though a good assistant, at least for a short term commitment.

Mark Cody? Would he leave the job he has at American University? At present Oklahoma might be seen as a step down rather than an advancement.

So, who do you think it will be? One, or none of the above?

Switzer would be a good choice. Caldwells parents might be in for a new double wide if he were coaching the Sooners.

I think Sammy deserves the job, but I was not aware of his anger management issues that zzyzx brought up. Oklahoma needs to get it right though, or they are in danger of falling off the face of the wrestling earth. It would be a hard job to take.

1. Recruiting to Norman is a very tough sell. Have to highlight the football teams success and the coach would have to be household enough to sell his name.

2. No fan support.

3. No AD support?

4. Not much high school talent in Oklahoma.

5. Very hard to see with all that dust flying around all the time.

Would love to see it wind up being Henson assuming he's able to calm his crazy self down a little bit.

I've heard they're making a major run at Terry Brands, who I didn't think wanted another head coaching job.

I was an advocate of Terry taking that job before he came back to Iowa. Now I don't want him going anywhere.

It would really suck if Terry left. If he does want a head coaching job, then Oklahoma is a pretty good one.

I'm hesitant to ask questions about the Brands brothers, but I'll send this out to the Iowa crew. Do Terry and Tom want to coach against each other or are they better working together?
I've seen it both ways plenty of times in other sports including right there are Oklahoma with Bob Stoops and his brothers. None have huge success after moving on, but that is football.
Tough to imagine Cody Sanderson going against Cael. Same thing with the Paulson brothers - they seem to do well working and training together.
