Looks like hiring Schwab is paying off. The Panthers may have lost a dual like this one last year. The future looks bright for UNI.

Anyone else think Beets is wrestling up too high? He's an AA at 165, granted I'm still not sure how THAT happened and he's getting pinned by nobody's at 197. Is he taking one for the team up there at 197?

I don't think he can beat Loder or Wolf.

No disrespect to UNI, but I highly doubt that. This NIU team is WAY down this year - they got shut out by Northwestern and lost 9 of 10 to Kent State this season.

Not sure what is going on with Castillo or Deutsch, they are both seemingly wrestling worse this year than last.

Deshazer keeps hitting that headlock though, the lone bright spot for this team

Last year UNI may not have beaten NIU, but they certainly would this year, regardless of coach. Yes, improvement can be seen in this team each week, but this team would have been better than last year's team anyway. It's what I keep saying, they are what are called in the sports world, "down years." UNI had a big time one last year, and they will have more sometime in the future.

Beets will still be at 174 by season's end. He's at 197 now because there's no one else to go 197 right now, and I'm guessing that the coaching staff is figuring why have two guys wrestle out of their weight class by bumping people up, as opposed to just one guy bumping up?

Deshazer is not only good with the head lock, but he's damned good with the head kick as well. I've seen bush league in my day, but after pinning Lazor, he jumped up and kicked him in the head. People in Pantherland got a bit ticked off by that one!

Deutsch simply got dominated by Bonin; nearly pinned twice.

Lo and behold! How soon I forget.

Last year's result between UNI/NIU. UNI had a down year too.

Deutsch is entering his late season funk a bit early this year. He showed tremendous improvement last year then sank like a rock. Against Cathell last week he was tied going into 3rd and got turned 3 times . Castillo, Dieckhaus and ''IZZY'' all seem to be digressing.

For such a quality wrestler, Deutsch seems to lose by major quite a bit...

Hasn't Castillo been there like 7 years?
