    Next big tournament coming up.

After losing Bedlam, I'll personally be very interested to see if Smith winds up yanking any guys for this tournament.

    High School Championship Brackets
    High School Consolation Brackets

I find it curious that The Citadel is entered in the high school division....

How often do you see an entire conference registered for the same individual-advancement tournament aside from the conference championships? (the entire Pac-10 is registered for Reno)

God I hate the Reno tournament. It's run horribly and was held in a rodeo arena w/ lumps in the mats (if it's the same as it was 5 years ago when I was in college). Plus I always got sick there and lost to turds. I think all of the PAC-10 teams have usually gone to Reno, with 1 or 2 teams missing some years.

I think we will see Notte instead of Shinn. Obe Blanc seems to be taking more time to adjust to this higher level of competition but it would be too soon to take him out of the lineup. Luke Silver is disappointing. We Cowboys just have to grit our teeth and let this season be for experience instead of the usual excellence we are used to seeing. 2 years from now we be riding tall in the saddle once again. I would like to see more recruiting done in Pennsylvania than Oklahoma. I think the tide has shifted in high school talent. That is hard to admit from a former Okie now a PA transplant. What do the rest of you OK State fans think?

Reno was alway tough you fly in drive in and you spend at least one day in the smoke filled hotels and casino's and than wrestle at 4400 feet above sea-level over .75 of a mile both kill the lungs and make you light headed I think it is at the convention center not the expo center. so the lumps should be gone.

I have never quite understood WHY they have this tournament in the first place. It takes place a week or two after what is probably THE best collegiate invitational tournament in the country (Las Vegas), in the same state (so the novelty for fans and coaches of combining a wrestling trip with the best casinos in the country is 2nd rate compared to LV) with a number of the same teams but less diversity than LV (traditionally the CK Invite had been most of the Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12 and WAC and top D2 and NAIA schools - my draw the first year I competed in there was: Grand Canyon, ASU, Boise St., LSU, Idaho St. and Ok St in finals.) and, as Brother Homer pointed out, a much less nicer venue in Reno than Vegas (we were in Cesars Palace back in the day). What is the point of having teams travel twice to Nevada to take on the same teams in two consecutive weeks?

    Brother FatGuy,
While it may be a tough flight/drive to Reno, it can't compare to our trip from SF to Boise in 82. Remember weighing in at some Reno high school and then stuffing ourselves on greasy casino buffet food? Remember the vans sliding around on the black ice on the road between Reno and Boise, and eventually crashing on the side of the road and one van ending up in a ditch and the other upside down? It was a miracle that no one was killed! And yet, we somehow pulled into our motel in Meridian ID at 5:00 AM got 2 hours of sleep and were at the tournament warming up at 8:00! THAT was a tough road trip!
As an aside, I still chuckle remembering you referring to my finals opponent as "a refrigerator with a head"!

And folks wonder why I'm not too excited about Maryland playing a bowl game in Boise......
