Endowment Meet Time> Oregon State hosts the 2011 Endowment Meet Sunday when the 20th-ranked Beavers take on No. 10 Boise State st a 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Media> Live stats and live video of the dual will be available on osubeavers.com. As always, visit the official online home of Oregon State Athletics for recaps and results.
All-Time> Oregon State holds a 25-14-1 all-time advantage over the Broncos, and the teams are meeting for the third time this season Sunday. BSU has the advantage this year, at 1-0-1, and most recently won, 24-12, at the National Duals on Jan. 8.
A Little Something On The Endowment> Tickets for Sunday?s dual are $10 to help benefit the Oregon State wrestling Endowment. As is not usually the case, all ticket sales Sunday go directly to the endowment.
And 1995, Too> Sunday will also be special in that the 1995 Oregon State wrestling team, which finished second at the National Championships, will be honored and recognized prior to the dual.
Big Time Bouts Sunday> Of the 20 wrestlers who will see action on the mats for the teams Sunday, 13 are ranked in the top 20 of Intermat?s individual rankings (the Beavers have six and eight according to D1CollegeWrestling.net). Bouts at 133 (No. 15 Garrett Drucker/No. 2 Andrew Hochstrasser), 141 (No. 11 Mike Mangrum/No. 18 Levi Jones), 149 (No. 20 Scott Sakaguchi/No. 3 Jason Chamberlain) and 174 (No. 6 Colby Covington/No. 11 Jake Swartz) will feature bouts with two ranked wrestlers.
Covington Streak> Colby Covington will have a chance to extend his win streak Sunday to 11 bouts. He has a long way to go for his career-long, however, as he won 17 straight from Jan. 7 to March 18 last season. Covington is 52-8 all-time at OSU, a winning percentage of .867. If the season were to end today, that would be tied for 11th-best in team history, and the best mark of the 21st Century.
Did You Know?> Oregon State has the third-most victories in NCAA Division I history with 958. It trails only No. 1 Iowa State (1,008) and No. 2 Oklahoma State (999) and is 72 ahead of No. 4 Iowa (886). OSU is 958-311-28 all-time for a winning percentage of .749.
