Rumor: Howe is out for the season
I don't know if it's true or not, but the rumor on the wisconsin wrestling forum is that Andrew is done for the season and will need surgery on his hamstring.

The only surgery I've ever heard of for a Hammy is if it is torn completely off the bone , either at the point of origin or point of insertion , and THAT is major league surgery. sounds like BS to me.
If he tore his Hammy off the bone it will have to be reattached and this is a MAJOR procedure-I simply refuse to believe this until verified as no way he gets a med red and Olympic year next year-so 2013 next time AH wrestles for wiscy ??
Went to the Wiscy site and recognized one of Howe's dad's friends -this seems to be for real and AH's hamstring is torn off the bone. Still awaiting oficial confirmation but I believe this. My heart goes out to Andrew and his family.

That is terrible. Surprising, too. He's been such a model of good health and toughness for his whole career.

The poster seems pretty legit, but I'm anxious to see if it is for sure. Always a possibility he pulls a Schlatter and defaults out of B10s and tries to be ready for NCAA's. If that puppy is detached I'm sure that's not even possible though.

No that is NOT possible. That is a surgery and then complete down time off the leg other than therapy. If thats torn muscle from the bone he AIN'T coming back for Big Tens OR Nationals. Thats a really tough break for a really good kid.

On top of missing NCAA's this year, he will likely miss all other opportunities to qualify for an '11/'12 Olympic waiver from the NCAA. I dare not outline what those opportunities are for fear of the wrath if Skippy, lest I get them incorrect.

I remember back when you used to make valuable contributions to this forum, its a shame that you seem to have transitioned into just being a whiny douche bag.
Obviously feel awful for Howe if this winds up being the case. Luckily he still has his normal RS that he's able to use.
