    Default 133 for Iowa

Is Dennis going to be starting at 133 for the Hawkeyes in their first several duals definitively?

    vs. Coe
    vs. Iowa Central
    vs. Minnesota State-Mankato
    vs. Arizona State

Maybe . I'd guess they split the duals between Dennis and Slaton.

What I've been told is the coaches didn't want Slaton to cut weight to get to 133 so he is going to bring his weight down over the next few weeks and only cut a few pounds.

I take it there is a decent allowance for the all star dual then?

I haven't heard that about the All-star dual. Slaton will make weight for the All-star dual.

Wow, and Phil Davis still couldn't make it? I guess 197 is a little easier to make those last few pounds but I actually thought for some crazy reason these guys had to make their weight. I suppose since they are "exhibition" matches however it may not apply.

Maybe I haven't been around long enough, can someone tell me when another situation like this has occured. By that I mean a NCAA Finalist possibly not being a varsity wrestler the next year. Also, I have not seen Dan Dennis wrestle since he was a starter. Is he just a good room wrestler or can he hang in the big matches? I guess I don't understand how a non starter can challenge a returning National Finalist.
