Of interest:
125: McDonough wins both matches handily.
133: Dennis looked dominant, putting up bonus on two ranked opponents.
141: Don't let the score fool you against Melde, it was a tight match till the end.
149: Obviously Metcalf's close win over LeValley will stick out. What does he share with others that have given Metcalf problems? Lanky build. Metcalf was in on several shots early, but LeValley was able to go OB or get a stalemate. Near the end, LeValley was taking the shots, which is impressive enough. Metcalf was back to his normal self against Greenwald.
157: Not much from an Iowa perspective.
165: Again, not much to tell, with Morningstar out. Jannsen got the first TD against Rendos, but Rendos eventually took over. Kerr also was winning, but eventually lost.
174: Borschel appears to be back on form from last year. Nice win over Riccio by bonus. Put him on his back twice in the third from on top.
184: Keddy puts a beating on themat.com's favorite son, Rob Waltko. Iowa then shows it's depth by having it's back up go out and get bonus points against rutgers.
197: Beatty looks like his usual solid self.
HWT: Jordan Johnson beats a 197 lber from Bucknell, then DJ Russo keeps up his great start by pinning Johnson in short order.
By what I can tell, Iowa's most impressive wrestlers were:
1. Dan Dennis
2. Jay Borschel
3. Matt McDonough
