Joe Pa has Lasik surgery, no longer needs his big fat glasses.

He's worn them so long, it didn't feel right, so he went out and another pair without the big thick lenses.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

I will post the entire article from now on however for those who do not want to take the time.

Sanderson has Lions cooking on the mat
    http://www.centredaily.com/2010/02/2...ooking-on.html

A few thoughts, while wondering if the snow will be gone before May:
Many years ago, a former college wrestling coach was asked about how his team would do that season. His blunt response — put in a little kinder language here — came in cooking terms and that how it would be difficult, given his team’s current ingredients, to make chicken salad. I think most of you get the drift here.

Well, Cael Sanderson must have gone to a different culinary school. The first-year <st1>State</st1> wrestling coach is on par with Emeril Lagasse or Bobby Flay. Sanderson’s No. 10 Nittany Lions concluded their regular season last night with a 26-16 loss to <st1:state u4:st="on"><st1>Minnesota</st1> enter the postseason after a 13-6-1 dual meet record and a 5-3 mark in the Big Ten.

The final numbers are very palatable, considering some of the ingredients Sanderson has used and some that are missing. <st1>PSU has won consistently, despite having several wrestlers who were decided underdogs no matter who the Nittany Lions were facing. There’s little argument that this team is wrestling better than expected. Sanderson and his staff have helped turn David Erwin (No. 10) and Adam Lynch (No. 20) into nationally ranked wrestlers. The Nittany Lions have also fared well, despite having talented freshmen David Taylor, Jake Kemerer and Ed Ruth redshirting, along with former Bald Eagle Area standout Quentin Wright, who finished sixth in the NCAAs as a freshman last season.

This year’s overachieving team has wrestling fans salivating over what Sanderson can cook up in the future. With a talented incoming freshman class, featuring<st1><st1><st1> Central</st1></st1><st1> Mountain</st1></st1></st1> twins Andrew and Dylan Alton, the future looks appetizing.

The wrestling success could cause <st1><st1><st1>Penn</st1></st1><st1> State</st1></st1> one problem. While Rec Hall has been adequate in the past, it’s hard to imagine it will suffice for the demand for future home matches against powers like <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:state u4:st="on">Iowa</st1:state></st1:state> and <st1:state w:st="on"><st1><st1>Minnesota</st1></st1></st1:state></st1:state>. Even with a relatively lightweight home schedule this season, fans packed Rec Hall. Some of that has to do with Sanderson himself, since the coach is one of the top two greatest names in amateur wrestling history, but everything points to his team being a major NCAA contender for many years to come.

<o>On several occasions, the wrestling team has outdrawn the school’s basketball teams (if you count actual bodies at the <st1><st1><st1>Bryce</st1></st1><st1> Jordan</st1></st1><st1> Center</st1></o>).<st1><st1>Penn</st1></st1><st1> State</st1> should start thinking about moving high-profile wrestling matches to the <st1><st1><st1>Jordan</st1></st1><st1> Center</st1></st1>. If not, those <st1><st1><st1>PSU-Ohio</st1></st1><st1> State</st1></st1> wrestling tickets may become just as tough to get as ones for a football game between the two schools

Nate Morgan caps perfect season with Nebraska State meet gold medal

    http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/1612910.html

Morgan said he will begin concentrating on college. He wants to wrestle in college, possibly at Big 10 Conference powerhouse. The Nittany Lions are coached by former Iowa State standout Cael Sanderson. Nate said he has a friendly relationship with Penn State assistant coach Casey Cunningham.

"I don't know how it gets much better than Penn State, except the fact that it's so far away," he said. "I still need to visit some more colleges to be able to make my decision for sure."

With Sanderson taking over the Penn State program, Morgan labeled the Nittany Lions as an "upcoming number-one program."

Bison senior has gold-medal mat dreams

    http://www.mccookgazette.com/story/1604381.html

Morgan has NCAA Division I aspirations. He has visited Big 10 Conference power Penn State and has contacted Missouri of the Big 12 Conference. He said the home-state Huskers are a possibility, although he hasn't had contact with the NU coaches.

"Maybe," he said about Nebraska, "But I would kind of like to go somewhere else, experience something else."
