I agree with you Burnsie. Pearsall has his struggles (especially on bottom) but he is a fighter, a hard worker, and a pinner that can get us some valuable bonus points at times. I don't see AA there, but he can be a contributor and seems to have a great attitude--something that is very important!

It's been a rough three years for him - bad knee injury senior year of HS, recovery year that probably didn't go as well as hoped, troubles in the summer, a lackluster start to this year and now whatever behavioral issues that violated team rules. On the mat, it just looked liked he never got back to 100% after the knee injury. Hopefully he rights the ship.

Quite a tournament for Matt Brown at the Scuffle - too bad there are such good wrestlers at the weights he could go at. Looks like an AA caliber wrestler. Wish he was a 133/141 guy.

Dylan Alton - After a stumbling start to this season (unimpressive against Bloomsburg and wrecked by Minny), he seems to have gained a lot of ground. I've gone from skeptical to impressed.

Alton does look improved. Note that the Dake bout is the only match that Alton didn't have a lead in. He got the initial takedown on Deitchler and he was up on Fleming 4-1 at one point (alas, before getting pinned!). He seems to have a bigger tank these days.

At this point I can't wait to see Iowa-Ok St & the PSU-Iowa.

At this point I would call it like this
    125 Rd12
    133 Rd12
    141 NQ 1-2
    149 Champ
    157 5th-6th
    165 Champ
    174 Champ
    184 3rd-4th
    197 Rd12
    285 6th-8th
    Team 1st or 2nd

I think these are pretty reasonable predictions. I think Pearsall qualifies and goes 1-2 at NCAA's (hopefully the win is a fall!). I think QW at 3rd-4th is cautious. Who knows? But his SS performance this year shows his ability to rise to the occasion in tournaments at least and I think he has a decent shot of improving on 3/4. Of course he could also not even place--but I don't think that's going to happen. Wade is another totally unknown. You have to admit at least, that his 3 collegiate (not NA) losses this year are to the #1,2,3 guys--at least in 1 set of rankings.

Is Martellotti confirmed as the starter? I'm assuming he beats Reber in the room, any idea what the scores are like?

I am just making the assumption about Martelotti based upon what I have heard out of the room.
