I know what you mean. I live in Dayton.......Maryland. My brother-in-law's wife is from Dayton, OH, and got her law degree from the University of Dayton, so she gets a kick out of it.
People (mainly companies) will address our mael to Dayton, OH, but with the correct zip code.
Of course when I was stationed in Texas I passed through Odessa, TX

Re: Free Meals to Honor Veterans and Active Duty
I think this is a great thing that they are doing. I was at a seminar a few weeks ago and the one gentleman speaking said, if you see a member of the armed services in the airport buying a coffee, buy it for him and thank them for everything they do.
Either way it is not something people do enough of these days. It is great to see some large chains doing good things.
We have a local car wash Cloister and they are giving free car washes out to veterans and service members which I think is great as well, and it makes me glad to know that I give them my business.
Champions are made while no one is watching.

I grew up next to Dayton OR, and now I live about two hours away from Dayton WA. My wife is from Grass Valley OR (population 100) and her family used to get calls from Grass Valley CA post office telling them that they got their mail. The same thing happened to my Aunt and Uncle who live 20 miles away in Kent OR (population 20).

And, that's not really what most people around here consider to be "the big game"

Yeah but it could be a game between arguably the two best college football teams in North Carolina this year!!!
