My understanding is that the match wasn't even started but it's possible I misunderstood that part.

When I run HS tourneys I'm used to putting in "default" only if the match is started and then someone injury defaults, but when I started working college tourneys I was told to use "default" even for a forfeit when it's for medical reasons. So my first instinct when I saw "default" in the official results for this was that the match was started... but then someone told me he forfeited... clear as mud, right?
