Ryan Heim may have found the second-best thing to making a comeback on the wrestling mat.

Seven-plus years after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury in a car accident, the former Dubuque Hempstead star is set to serve as an assistant coach at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City while he studies in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

The 28-year-old Heim -- a two-time state champion for the Mustangs who was in his redshirt freshman season at the University of Iowa at the time of the 2002 crash -- spoke with the Telegraph Herald recently.

Right after I posted my link, I did a google search for additional information on Ryan Heim... and one of the links on page one was to this article that you had posted a couple weeks ago at this forum. I also found a brief story in the Mason City Globe-Gazette.

It's truly incredible to see Ryan going to school and becoming a coach.
