You beat me to the punch! Thanks for posting!

It's great to see the legacy of Iowa State honoring wrestlers...

... and great to see how many wrestlers have earned "Male Athlete of the Year" honors in 2009, including:
    > J Jaggers at Ohio State
    > Steve Luke at Michigan
    > Franklin Gomez at Michigan State
    > Jake Herbert at Northwestern (he also earned the Big Ten's Jesse Owens Award for male athlete of the entire conference)

    Congratulations to all!

Good on to all of those guys...

Varner showed what could be done this year when one learns from a loss and thats something I've got to throw up big time kudos for.

After wrestling many absolutely brutal matches as a sophomore, comes in this year and puts up 20+ bonus point wins en route to a title and then makes the world team for good measure barely allowing any points.

Just to add to your list, Jordan Leen was co-Male Athlete of the Year at Cornell. The guy he shared the award with was Max Seibald, who won the Tewaarton Trophy as the nation's best college lacrosse player.
