PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 23, 2013) – Rutgers wrestling head coach Scott Goodale has been nominated for the Elite Level Sports Marketing (ELSM) and National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) “Social Media of the Year” award for head coaches.
Fans can vote for Goodale from June 10-14 on the ELSM website. Voting will start on June 10 at 8 a.m. and conclude at 11:59 p.m. on June 14. Goodale is one of seven head wrestling coaches currently on the ballot, which will consider nominations until the start of voting. The winner will be announced June 19th at 8 p.m. on the @ELSMarketing Twitter account.
The criteria for determining the winner will feature two parts: a panel of judges assessing performance (60 percent) and an online voting competition (40 percent).
The award was designed to honor the head coaches who established the strongest social media presences for the 2012-13 year. Emphasis will be placed on coaches who have established a strong presence on Twitter. The program will also honor an assistant coach and a wrestler.
Goodale has been the head coach at Rutgers for six seasons, compiling a 100-33-1 record, including a 39-9 mark in the EIWA. This past season, he picked up his 100th career win at Drexel on Feb. 15, 2013. He has led 32 grapplers to the NCAA Championships and has placed 34 wrestlers on the award stand at the EIWA Championships.
