Complete NCAA Division I Brackets
CORVALLIS, Ore. ? Oregon State wrestlers Mike Mangrum and Brice Arand have earned at-large berths to the NCAA Wrestling Championships that will be held March 17-19 in Philadelphia.
Their at-large berths brings the total number of OSU wrestlers heading to Philadelphia to eight. The duo joins Jason Lara (125), Garrett Drucker (133), Scott Sakaguchi (149), Colby Covington (174), Chad Hanke (197) and Clayton Jack (heavyweight).
Mangrum finished third at 141 pounds at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships on Feb. 27, but only the top two wrestlers were guaranteed spots. Arand, meanwhile, lost in the 184-pound finale but the Pac-10 was guaranteed only one spot from that bracket.
Those finishes didn?t matter Wednesday, however, and Mangrum will be making his second trip to nationals in as many years while Arand will be going for the first time. The Beavers have four wrestlers repeating their trips from last season- Mangrum, Covington, Lara and Jack (who also competed in 2009) ? while the other four, Drucker, Sakacguhi, Arand and Hanke, are going for the first time.
Also announced Wednesday by the NCAA were seedings and brackets for each of the 10 weight classes.
Here?s who the Beavers will open against in Philadelphia.
