BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University wrestling team (11-5) sent their six seniors out with a win Friday by defeating the Michigan State Spartans (9-6) on "Senior Night" inside University Gym to conclude the 2011 home schedule. Indiana won seven of 10 bouts on the evening.

Seniors Paul Young and Ricky Alcala contributed a pair of decisions to the winning effort. Young, ranked eighth nationally at 157 pounds, posted a 5-2 tally over three-time Indiana high school state champion Sean McMurray while ninth-ranked Alcala held on for a 2-1 victory over #20 Joe Rizqallah at heavyweight. It marked Alcala'a third triumph over a nationally-ranked opponent in as many weeks.

Five underclassmen also notched W's for the Cream and Crimson. The Hoosiers scored the first 10 team points of the night with back-to-back-to-back bout wins to start things off. Matt Ortega garnered a major decision while Justin Brooks and Mitchell Richey each won via decision.

Ryan LeBlanc and #9 Matt Powless had their hands raised as well. LeBlanc grinded his way to a 3-2 edge at 165 pounds; and Powless came away an 8-5 winner.

The Hoosiers hit the road for the final two duals of the regular season, heading to Illinois and Purdue on consecutive nights next week (Feb 17-18). Indiana's match in Champaign will be broadcast live online at BigTenNetwork.com and the rivalry scrum with the Boilers is slated for a Big Ten Network tape-delayed broadcast on Feb. 19 at 11:30 a.m. EST.
