AMES, Iowa ? Caroling was the means to express the Iowa State wrestling team?s appreciation for University staff. The ends weren?t bad at all.* The Cyclones made a campus tour Friday singing Christmas carols at eight different stops.

?We just wanted to do something a little different and have some fun,? Iowa State head coach Kevin Jackson said. ?These different departments at Iowa State help us in so many ways during the school year.* We just wanted to express our thanks and let them know that we realize all that they do for all students on campus.?

The wrestlers made stops at the kinesiology and criminal justice departments, the business undergraduate office, the office of the liberal arts and sciences college, the student services office of the engineering college and the offices of financial aid, Iowa State President Gregory Geoffroy and admissions.

Jackson was asked about the singing ability of assistant head coach Yero Washington.

?Poor, very poor,? Jackson replied.

The Cyclone wrestlers will continue to workout through Monday, before heading to their respective homes Tuesday for the Christmas holiday. The Iowa State grapplers will reunite for a Dec. 26 evening workout and practice the following day before departing for the Midlands Wrestling Championships in Evanston, Ill., which will be contested Dec. 29-30.
