With the first day of fall signing period, more recruiting news is coming to the forefront.
Mason Pengilly of Porterville High School has made a verbal commitment to wrestle at Oregon State. Pengilly has placed three times including his 120 lbs. state championship in 2012 (in which he defeated the defending state champion,*Isaiah Locsin of Live Oak HS.
Mason had his considerations down to Columbia, Stanford, Oregon State and the University of Pennsylvania. He is slated to wrestle at 126 lbs. next fall for Oregon State and Coach Jim Zalesky.
While Oregon State being the 11th ranked college in the preseason coaches poll was a big factor, Oregon State also has a top biology program which piqued Pengilly’s interest.
