2012 Virginia Duals Schedule
Missouri, Rutgers, Kent State and Edinboro highlight the National College Division of the 32nd annual Virginia Duals set to kick off on Friday in Hampton, Va.
USA Wrestling will provide four free live streams from the event across the National College, National High School, American College and American High School divisions.
Missouri and Rutgers are the top two seeds and they will have byes in the opening round, while third-seeded Kent State will draw SoCon opponent The Citadel. Edinboro, seeded fourth, will face Drexel and new head coach Matt Azevedo.
Rider from the CAA is the fifth seed and they open with North Carolina, while sixth-seeded Bucknell wrestles Buffalo, seventh-seeded Old Dominion wrestles Arizona State and eighth-seeded North Dakota State faces Campbell.
In the National High School Division, Canon-McMillan of Pennsylvania is the top seed and comes in ranked No. 7 in the country by TheOpenMat Clinch Gear Rankings. Second-seeded Christiansburg of Virginia is looking to claim its third championship, while the Canon Mac is looking for its first National Division championship after winning the American Division back in 2009.
South Plainfield of New Jersey has been ranked by Amateur Wrestling News and is the third seed, while McDonogh of Maryland is receiving ranking consideration by TheOpenMat.
Virginia’s Fauquier High School is the top seed in the American High School Division and will be chased by second-seeded Lexington of South Carolina, third-seeded Kellam of Virginia Beach and fourth-seeded Haddonfield of New Jersey.
Brockport comes in as the top seed in the American College Division, while Nassau Community College of the NJCAA is seeded second. The NCWA is represented by host Apprentice School, Central Florida and Liberty, while Division II Anderson and St. Andrews and Division III Johns Hopkins round out the field.
Action will begin at 9 a.m. Eastern on Friday with two mats of American College Division wrestling and eight mats of the National High School Division. The National College Division takes the mat at 11 a.m. with all six duals of the opening round taking to the mats at the Hampton Coliseum.
