Two stop signs down.
And one to go.
That?s where Minnesota?s Gannon Volk and Oregon?s Ronnie Bresser now stand after earning stop-sign shaped plaques for winning Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman championships on Monday afternoon at the FargoDome.
Volk and Bresser moved one step away from winning coveted USA Wrestling Triple Crowns. They both captured Cadet Nationals Folkstyle titles earlier this year in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They will each need to win a freestyle title later this week in Fargo to capture a Triple Crown.
Volk swept Isaac Jimenez of Texas 1-0, 6-0 in the finals at 91 pounds.
?Some people think Greco?s not as important as the other styles, but I like it a lot,? Volk said. ?I like all the styles of wrestling. They?re all kind of equal to me.?
Bresser fell behind early before downing North Dakota?s Tommy Walton 6-2, 3-0 in the finals at 98. Bresser won Cadet Nationals in freestyle last year.
?I?ve put a lot into my training and having this Greco title was real important to me,? Bresser said. ?I still have to work for that freestyle title.?
California?s Elijah Davis was named Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament. Davis came back to land a spot in the finals despite losing a match earlier in the tournament by fall.
Davis knocked off returning champion Hayden Tuma of Idaho 2-0, 3-0 in the finals at 130. Tuma was a champion at 119 last year.
?When I was on top, I knew I could turn him,? Davis said. ?I had to turn him. I believed I could do it.?
Pennsylvania won the team title with California finishing second and Illinois taking third.
2010 Cadet Triple Crown winner Mitch Sliga of Indiana (189) won his second straight Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman title after defeating Pennsylvania?s Javon Reyes 1-0, 7-0 in the finals.
Sliga is looking to repeat his Fargo double in Greco and freestyle from last year. He placed fourth in Cadet Folkstyle Nationals earlier this year.
New Jersey?s Joseph McKenna of New Jersey (112) repeated as a Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman champion. McKenna swept Minnesota?s Tristan Manderfeld 7-0, 1-0 in the finals. McKenna won the title at 98 last year.
Pennsylvania?s Chance Marsteller (152) completed a dominating two days by downing Nevada?s Ryder Newman 1-0, 7-0 in the finals. Marsteller hit a succession of turns to put the match away in the second period.
Marsteller won Cadet Nationals in freestyle last year and placed fourth in Greco.
Pennsylvania?s Darian Cruz capped a superb tournament by sweeping Idaho?s Michael Cook 4-0, 7-0 in the finals at 105.
Pennsylvania?s Eric Morris won the title at 160 by defeating Ricky Robertson of Illinois 3-0, 1-0. Pennsylvania?s Raymond O?Donnell followed at 171 by topping New Jersey?s Jadaen Bernstein 1-0, 3-0.

Rich Martinez won an all-California final at 135 when he outlasted Mike Longo 3-0, 1-2, 1-0 to earn the title.
Oregon?s Cody Jackson rallied to win the title at 84 to start the finals. Jackson dropped the first period 4-3, but quickly regroup to earn a second-period fall over Jabari Moody of Illinois. Moody won Cadet Folkstyle Nationals earlier this year.
Iowa?s Peter Nagy won the 140 crown by sweeping Michigan?s Logan Marcicki 1-0, 2-0 in the finals. Nagy is a foreign exchange student from Hungary.
Washington?s Chandler Rogers continued his run of success in USA Wrestling events after winning the title at 145. Rogers topped Utah?s Kimball Bastian 2-0, 2-1 in the finals. Rogers won Schoolboy Nationals in Greco-Roman and freestyle in 2010.
Rogers is the younger brother of Jordan Rogers, a Cadet Nationals champion in Greco-Roman and freestyle last year.
