Hermiston wrestlers Tyler Berger, Joey Delgado and Curtis Berger (H.M. @ 189) placed in the top-eight at the FloNationals high school wrestling tournament in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, last weekend, earning them the title of FloNational All-American.

Curtis Berger, a future North Dakota State wrestler, earned an eighth-place finish in the ultra-tough 189-pound class.

He pinned Adam Reed from Spauldling, Vt., at the end of the first round in his first match, but lost to eventual third-place finisher Devin Peterson (No. 2 @ 189) of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., in the quarters, 6-1.

Berger pinned Jacob Shields from Brookville, Pa., in 4:01 in his first consolation match, but lost his remaining two to finish in eighth.

Delgado earned a fifth-place finish at 130 pounds, earning a spot in the championship quarterfinals before falling into the consolation bracket.

He picked up first and second rounds wins via a fall and major decision, but lost to Kyle Bauer (H.M. @ 130) of Wheeling, Pa., 5-2, in the quarters.

After picking up a pair of wins in the consolation bracket, Delgado lost to Matt Nelson of Big Lake, Minn., 5-0. In the fifth-place match, he got another crack at Bauer and avenged his earlier loss, winning the fifth-place bout, 3-1.

Tyler Berger placed fourth in the 119-pound weight class with an 8-2 record.

He won six straight consolation matches to qualify for the consolation final, but dropped a 6-2 decision to Joey Dance (No. 12 @ 119) of Christiansburg, Va.
