Default Using your Flex Spot

Its kind of interesting how people have been using it, most of whom just put their ten "best" at the starter spots, and then whoever else as a Flex guy.

A lot of people have lost points this year (Gofer lost it today with Ness, Fisch has done it to Avallone several times, as has Frey to ISU) because one of their big guns, got bumped to a different weight rather than the one that they were put down at for the league.

So it makes one wonder if it'd be a better usage of your Flex spot, to put your best guy, or a guy who's iffy on weights there to make sure that they get points regardless of how things go down when it comes to weight.

I can make these threads about strategy since I'm wayyyyyyy out of a playoff spot.

i didn't think flex meant that you just started a guy without regard to a weight...i have always started my flex and declared the weight...i didn't know that was an option to start them at flex and not have to declare a weight for them...

Thats kind of the deal of a "flex" guy, he's just there at whatever spot he winds up at.

Maybe I could have explained it better I guess, but I've been scoring flex guys this season no matter the weight that they've been at.

It might have made a difference in strategy, but no one has lost points.

Half the time I have to search to find out what weight and school some of these Flex guys are at when all I get is a last name out of them in a line up thread.

Thats what I've been doing all year. I mean.....i've been fortunate to have guys stay at their own weights. But when David Craig was wrestling 184.....instead of the weight i drafted him at (174).......he made a viable flex option

What I meant by nobody losing points was that I always counted the flex guy, no matter what the weight.

I wasn't using my flex spot like that, but in retrospect, I don't think I would have done it differently because the only time I used Frey at 141 was when I didn't have anyone else at that weight going that week.
