If anything I say top 3 and 2 WC's as 1/2 the league starts playing for conference week after 6-8 weeks-Zapp voted my team as worse team in the league at years start-but if you pay attention to schedules and tournaments you can score points-make some trades to improve and you can also end up doing favors for guys .I won't name names but afew guys asked me to help them during the draft and the season and the supplemental and I never once said no .
If anyone I traded with felt I screwed them post it !! Or PM me and I will publicly apologize.

    Oh, name names, Russ.
Russ was my go to guy for advice......he's forgotten more about college wrestling than I'll ever know.
    Thanks, Buddy.

Russ Payton screwed me all the way to a 3rd place finish this year. I always felt like most trades might not have made sense to the outside eye but that is because a trade may have just been the beginning of a series of trades that ultimately improved both sides.

Most champions in this Fantasy League have to reinvent their team at least twice during the season.

I would like to see guys who don't post on time actually LOSE points, not get the benefit of keeping the same team from the prior week. This enforces participation which is what its really about.

There isn't anyone in this league that wouldnt' post a line-up for anyone else with a quick PM.

    Proposed Changes:
    • Add a bonus for guys attending (or even just winning) the All Star.
    • Score all tournaments.
    • Have a "Best of the worst" tournament at the end for those of us that sucked too much to make the tournament. It may keep a guy from checking out in late Jan if he's way behind or lost some of his best guys to injury.

If I think of others I'll be sure to add them as well.
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Nice Job Brother Snackem!

As for the rule changes, I really like you're idea of scoring every tournament. I know that Brother Commish has said in the past that it involves an ungodly amount of additional work for the scorekeeper (Brother C) and I can seriously appreciate this problem, with all of the work He and the good brother vice-commishes have to do to keep this wagon train running, but how about if the players take responsibility for keeping track of the tourneys that aren't on the initial list. We could find the matches on-line, keep track of our guy(s) competing and send in the scores with names of opponents and fall times if warranted. Most of us do this for all of our matches anyways and it sure would be nice not to have to list my wrestler as a non-combatant for the week when he is actually getting the ow at the Keystone Open or some such smaller tournament. I am all for this one!

Another one that I think would be good and maybe partially solve the " too many trades" issue, is drafting a few more guys initially. It might seem kind of nuts, given the "20 guys hacking their way through the swamp" kind of feeling that we get during the latter hours of the draft some years, but it might make sense to have more guys up front than having to try and make 5 trades the first week because you found out that both of your 142 lbers are out for the year due to redshirting or a secret late summer jump up two weights above where I drafted the mook (yep this happened to me this year. Friggin miserable.) I was talking to a guy at the NCAA's Saturday night who mentioned that he had Hocstrasser on his fantasy team. Thinking it might be one of my TWT brothers, I told him that I did to and what league was he in. Well, it wasn't ours, but he mentioned that his league drafts 20 guys each (!) and they only allow 5 trades per season. While I think that that?s going a bit too far, if we could draft say, 15 guys instead of the current 11 it might save us a number of headaches and ass-pains during the long season to come.

All that being said, I just want to thank Brother Commish and company for all of their free work that the put in to make this thing go. It is one of my favorite activities of the year and has kept me involved in college wrestling well past when I should have stopped having sleepless nights worrying about some skinny red-head kid from Minn. and whether or not he is going to make weight the next day! I LOVE this sport, loved competing in it, training for it, coaching big and little kids in it, reading about it, ect, ect, ect. And for the last five years, I have another aspect of it, believe it or not. I LOVE fantasy wrestling, and I love you Brothers out there. This was a GREAT season, even finishing in 8th place. Have a great Spring/Summer and don't forget to support Freestyle and Greco.
Peace, Love and Happiness to you all and to all whom you love,

We do draft 15 Brother Mojo, we only START 11. I think drafting 20 would actually cause MORE trades. You would always feel like you had a deep team and I could see alot of useless trades this way. Yes, I know, I just said it, useless trades.

What about ending the regular season 2 weeks early?

True regular season champ. Then bracket one of the last regular seasons and conference weeks head to head to get in. Breathe a little life into those slow weeks while giving even more people a shot at the tournament.

Going to do some referring back to our rules this year in this post, so with that being said I'll go ahead and provide the link to this year's rules as a reminder.

    http://www.thewrestlingtalk.com/fant...ial-rules.html

    Basics
    - Will stay the same, don't see any real reason to change anything there.

    2010/2011 New Stuff
    - We'll do the draft the same way we did this year from rounds 3-15 in terms of organizing keepers and non-keepers.

    - Second supplemental will be back next year in its same format.

    - All Star match scoring will be 9/10/11/12 for winners again

    Definite 2011 Rule Changes
    - Prospect keeper option for returnees as detailed in this thread.

    http://www.thewrestlingtalk.com/fant...er-option.html

    - We say this every year (and never follow through) but try and start the draft later...

    Possible 2011 Rule Changes
    - I personally like the sound of the Top 5 + 1 WC that Zapp brought up in this thread, but I'd be amenable to listening to other people before instituting it.

    - Still am not going to automatically score every tournament, but want to find a way to give credit to tournaments that wind up being tougher than we thought they'd be. Something to the effect of if a certain number of ranked wrestlers are at a tournament then it will count.

    - Possibly adding a 16th round to the draft and a 12th roster spot to the line up that you would use on a D2 or D3 guy. My initial thought is that I would only score these guys for their duals.

    - Possible "No trade" or "Can only be traded for each other" list for guys drafted in Rounds 1-2, or 1-3.

    - Possible limit on number of trades as detailed in this thread.

Let me know what you guys think of these, and if I left anything out that I said that I would do sometime during the course of the season.
