Default Scoring question re: back up rule

When Scuffle seeds came out, Pataky wasn't on them. Not sure if he was wrestling, I declared Martelotti, his back up, in my line up. Pataky, however, DID suit up and wrestle. So who's points am I getting?

    Marletti.

Stupid seeds.. I could have started Pearsel OR Morril and scored a bundle and instead I'm stuck with a big fat 0 for long
    Gold is an idiot.

well , Actually you listed both-Pataky or Martellotti -his back up-I think you are at the mercy of JensenS on this one . This is a first , I think, where the starter and the back up wrestled .
I think JensenS will make a fair ruling -he has 2 options-the true 125-Pataky -or the back up since you listed both . He will probably give you the one who scored the most -but the decision is his .
If YOU had just placed Mariotti-then you would have gotten his points.
This is one rule ( naming back ups for tournaments I think we could lose ) as HTH are we supposed to know who is wrestling?? But I do not make the rules .Just try to follow them .

Pataky's name is listed first, so I'm scoring him...

In the future with this rule what I think I'm going to do is if there is only one guy entered in the bracket from your team (so say Pataky didn't wrestle and Martellotti did) you'll automatically get back up points no matter who you put in the line up. We're doing that for conferences this year (you'll get points no matter who you name) and next year I plan on extending that.

Great idea-as if a guy goes down in practice a day before the tournament we have NO way of knowing . If (as in the NFL ) we had an injury list then we could do something . A WISE decision O' Sagacious one.

I agree with Brother Russ 110% on this on Brother Commish! How on earth could I have known about Bradley no-showing at Midlands and Patrovich being injured at Hofstra and Caldwell scratching literally minutes before the Scuffle, after (I believe) our posting deadline had closed? Just bitching right now out of a little frustration (and after seeing Byers and John lose in their finals). It sounds like you have addressed the problem and are making a decent plan for us to deal with it next season. But man, those scratches are irritating!

    Jensen,

First of all, I am new to the league and you are the man for doing all that you do, I appreciate it! I like the rule change to go with the back-up if the starter doesn't wrestle no matter who you name. Seems fair to all! Thanks again for all that you do!
