What he said
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
I object to this trade.
1. ISU is getting raped. He's giving up three top 3 guys for one and Miller and a guy that probaby isn't the starter on his own team, and then Lost is accepting non-wrestling filler guys just to make the numbers work. This is fishy as hell, to me. I can't fathom a guy willingly giving up potentially the # 1 overall wrestler (Burroughs) to get the # 18 guy in his weight, the # 3 149 to go to UR, especially with the Supplemental Draft coming up to fill his one hole at 149. He's essentially going from having one real hole on his team at 184 to two at 149 and 157. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
2. It makes Lost happy.

Bro... no offense but you are not very bright.
The fact that you are trying to use RANKINGS to tell me that trading away 1st, 2nd, 2nd at NCAAs + 2 top 20 prospects is somehow not fair for 1st, 7th, 6th is pretty damn funny to me.
This fills his hole at 184, it fills his hole at HVY (brantley is not that great) and it gives him some lineup and trade flexibility, instead of having 3 of his spots taken up by no-ones. He trades the #1 141 for the #1 157, the #4 HVY or the #3 149, and the #5 184 for the #3 141. And then he gets two very solid prospects to boot in Nemec and Bailey.
More importantly, I crunched the numbers for him and showed him how his new lineup gets about 1.5x as many points in december as he would have with Burroughs and Drouin.
Are there risks? Sure.. but ISU is in a spot where taking some risks is probably a good idea if he wants to qualify.
It simply amazes me that people are suddenly so down on Ellis. Trivia question, what is the difference between the Ellis/Bradley situation last year and this year? THis year Ellis is the returning NC, last year he was a 0 time AA.
Gold is an idiot.
I assume you mean the second place finishers both wrestlers got one weight class below where they're currently wrestling, with one of them being forced to move up by his RSFRosh teammate? It's amazing how you'll go right to the namecalling. Brantley is a conference champion almost guaranteed. Ellis? Not so much, not even guaranteed to start. Oh yeah, the other difference is that Bradley is also now a Junior World champion, and beating Ellis head to head in tournaments.

Ellis and Bradley split matches last year, that is not different whatsoever. Bradley is a Junior World champion. Ellis is a returning D1 Champion. Which one do you think weighs more heavily on a coach trying to win a D1 title...?
lol@ Humphrey being 2nd at 133 somehow being a negative. That was a weight 3x as deep as 141 is this year, and he is now up at where he belongs weight wise rather then having to cut his ass off Jeff Jaggers style. He'll walk through 141 this year, I never would have traded him if I wasn't getting someone of Burroughs caliber in return.
Gold is an idiot.
It bothers me that people are going to come on here and talk shit about a trade that took me and ISU FOUR DAYS to hammer out based on what they think from five minutes contemplation.
"Durr... Ellis lost to bradley, and miller is up at 184 so this trade must sux"
No shit they did sherlock, you think that didn't factor into the negotiations? It makes sense for ISU to have Miller because he has Bennet as well. If he picked up a 184 at the supplimental, or traded for one, then he'd run the risk of Bennet losing the 174 spot to miller and he'd have more guys then he bargained for at a weight. THis way he is assured of a 1/1 split and AA contenders at 174/184.
As for Ellis, yeah he's lost to Dom this year, and also to finn. Whats your point? Finn beat Rosholt, and Ellis beat Bradley in the wrestleoffs. This is the exact same spot Ellis was in last year and all he did was go on to win Midlands, take 2nd at B12s, and win NCAAs.
Will he do it again? Who knows... but for someone in ISU's situation it makes a lot more sense to take that gamble then to sit where they are and watch their team sink in the standings.

1. You have already said you regretted picking him in the first round because you could have gotten better value elsewhere, and Humph has already had tight matches with lower end guy Zack Bailey and Adam Koballa. Who is Adam Koballa, you might ask? He wrestles for Notre Dame college. Other then that, not much to tell you
2. Notice you didn't touch on the Miller point.
3. Bradley is a sophomore, Ellis is a graduating senior who played football. Who do you think has more value for the Missouri Tigers at this point?
Basically, you're just taking all the things that COULD be good abotu the trade, possibly, maybe, and treating them like they've already happened, and then changing your position on Humphrey. LOL at even remotely trying to compare Reece Humphrey and Jordan Burroughs. Laughable.

Because I had information that Trusty didnt have...
Which I also shared with you in private before I even knew you were making a trade, in an effort to try and help you out.
If one of the guys I am trading ISU is out for the season with a torn ACL feel free to jump in and point it out, and I will cancel the trade. Otherwise I dont think you are in a place to criticize. It took a longgg time to run the numbers on this one, trading 6 guys on a 15 man roster is not something you do lightly.
Gold is an idiot.
LOL, keep trying to split hairs. You think I would have tried to trade Cleveland to them, after receiving your PM, after I told you I couldn't do it in good conscience without telling them, knowing that you would jump right in and tell them if I did try to go behind theri backs? No, you just had to interject yourself, and now that someone interjects themselves the other way, you get all pissy. Hypocritical to say the least.

I think Reece Humphrey is totally comparable to Jordan Burroughs. Obviously Burroughs is a little more of a sure thing, but I expect Reece to go undefeated and win B10s and NCAAs. and unlike Burroughs he can actually pin people too
I said I regretted picking him in the 1st round because I could have gotten a guy like Parks a zillion rounds later and picked up Escobedo or someone of that nature to fill one of the weights I ened up being weak at. It had absolutely nothing to do with my feelings about humphrey. I love you trying to take something I said a month ago totally out of context just so you can further a bizzare pseudo argument over nothing with me. You really are the Lawyer type aren't you?
Anyway, this is a retarded argument. I dont have to justify a trade to the peanut gallery. It makes sense for me, and it makes sense for ISU, even if YOU with your amazing 5 minutes of research can't see that. We've agreed to it and Jensens will approve it tomorrow, I couldn't care less what you think.
