Thread: Going into Conferences....

    Default Going into Conferences....

    Here's how I see it:

Myself, Zapp and RD149 have separated themselves from the pack. rpayton has done a nice job of maximizing his weekly scoring thru wheeling and dealing, but he doesn't have the horses to hang with the top 3.

Using the most recent power rankings (thanks viritas):

    125 Tiger- Donahoe#1, Zapp- Precin#3, RD149- Escobedo#4
    133 Tiger- Ness#4, Zapp- Dennis#1, RD149- Gomez#6
    141 Tiger- Drouin#5, Zapp- Tsirtsis#2, RD149- Thorn#8
    149 Tiger- Ruschell#5, Zapp- Palmer#4, RD149- Kyler#7
    157 Tiger- Gillespie#1, Zapp- Chandler#7, RD149- O'Connor#5
    165 Tiger- Marable#5, Zapp- Morningstar#3, RD149- Dwyer#4
    174 Tiger- Jordan#5, Zapp- Borschel#3, RD149- Browne#4
    184 Tiger- Patterson#6, Zapp- Craig#8, RD149- Pucillo#2
    197 Tiger- Brester#3, Zapp- Todd#6, RD149- Varner#1
    Hwt Tiger- Ellis#2, Zapp- Dudziak#5, RD149- Montiero#6
    Flex Tiger- Hoehn#10, Zapp- Reader#7, RD149- James#10

Could be anybody's ballgame. Zapp has excellent depth and could go with LeBlanc/Lapotsky/Welch as flex as well. All have real good shots to AA 10....maybe even 11 guys. What do you all think?

I really don't count myself out of this, and the scores are wipes going into NCAAs, so the lead you guys have now doesn't really matter.

I will say that I'm probably not the favorite on paper, but I don't think I'm too far behind, and we've been having a lot of good practices lately. I'm working up a speech to deliver to the guys right before conferences, so watch out.

    I think I'm 6-5 with you. You have advantages at 125, 157, 184, 197, and HWT.

    I think I'm 7-4 with RD. He has advantages at 125, 174, 184, and 197.

Obviously I'm biased for my team. I think the better play for your flex is Joe Baker, to be honest, but I'd love for you to wrestle Hoehn. I think I should have 10 AA's. I think you probably have nine, ten with Baker. I think RD has 8. You have 4 title contenders, IMO. I have 5, although I'm stretching a bit with Dudziak. Either way, it's going to be interesting.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

These are my title contenders: Humphrey, Jaggers, Metcalf, Sponseller, Porter. Jaggers can definitely do it, but he will have to pull it all together. The thing is, he has always pulled it all together at NCAAs in the past, so who knows. Porter could do it--I probably wouldn't have put him on here but Zapp counted Dudziak, and Porter is ranked higher and has beaten Dudziak, so...

My AA candidates are: #7 Fio, #3 Humphrey, Champion Jaggers, Champion Metcalf, #6 Hall, #2 Sponseller, #7 AA Miller, #7 Umbehauer, #5 Chriswell, #7 Halsey, and #4 Porter. That is 11 strong contenders, and I would say nine to eleven of them should pull it off.

I agree with 6-5 for you. I traded Baker to rpayton, I think. I might go with Kinser for his bonus propensity. Who steps up and who trips up will make all the difference.

I think I've got a pretty good team but have had problems scoring during the season. I need to win the conference week to get in. Toying with some lineups.

    Conference
    125 Falck
    133 Fanthorpe
    141 Trent Washington
    149 Chamberlain
    157 Leen
    165 Moza Fay
    174 Luke
    184 Alex Dolly
    197 Andrew Anderson
    HWT Christian Brantley
    Flex Jantzen

Thanks to UNI I've got a pretty good conference team

    NCAA
    125 Falck
    133 Fanthorpe
    141 Jantzen
    149 Chamberlain
    157 Leen
    165 Fay
    174 Luke
    184 Keddy
    197 Anderson
    HWT Erekson
    Flex Oplinger or Brantley

I think those are some pretty good lineups. I've just got to make it into the tournament. That's why I dont' like it that Champ is unloading his team.

    We will show up-
    125 Nickerson
    133 Baker/Kennedy
    141 Cleveland
    149 Brown /Barnes
    157 Poeta
    165 Stewart /Brown
    174 Henrich
    184 Caputo
    197 Herbst
    hwt Wise
Cleveland has majored Hoehn and will walk through the Socon Stewart has beaten Marable as has Brown Varner has 1 loss -guess who gave it to him ?caputo is 9th ,Wise I would wrestle against any heavy out there -149, everyone save Gold is wrestling for 2nd place and Brown has beaten Kyler -Poeta is as good as anyone in the country -he and G could be the finals -the lowest ranked guy I have is at 149 and he is 32 -4-
I'm happy with coming from 10th to 4th place -but I will NEVER throw in the towel.

Paytons team is looking a heck of a lot better then the last time I saw it...

Not very many title contenders outside of Poeta but solid across the board and I could see 10 or 11 AAs there.

Over in my league I have national title contenders at 133 through 174 (although 149 is pretty much locked up).
    Gold is an idiot.
