I have to agree--who is to say what that wrestler would have done if he had gotten the chance to wrestle?

Exactly my point. It's an arbitrary value to give them anything. Who's to say they would have won the match at all? And does a guy who gets FFT deserve the same amount of points that aa wrestler who wrestled a full match.

That is why you give them three for a regular win -not any bonus points -although changing the rules is a pretty steep step in any way -I agree no bonus points are called for but a win is accorded in the books so some points should be given -just 3 -no bonus .
As a coach I have had kids that I ffted to simply because I feared for my kids safety and I have had other coached fft to my kids -if I could have I wouldn't have taken the 6 but the rules state that , unless there is a referees DQ a score must be entered in the Home scorebook as the home scorebook is the official one for that match .
If you are not counting fft's , how are you going to score advancement pts and byes and such in tournaments ?

While that may be true at the high school level, it's not likely to happen on the college level. FFT's happen at the college level typically for injury reasons/discipline reasons. As to scoring advancement pts and byes and such....I don't score those at all. It's all in the rules. A pin in a tournament is worth 6 points, just like a dual.
