Idea To Keep Or Not To Keep: That is the Poll

This was one of the most discussed topics in the "Rule Modifications.." thread, and it was never really resolved. So, once and for all, we shall vote on this. I'm giving two options to simplify the process:

    NO: No Keeper.

YES: We draft this year. If, in following years, you want to keep one (and only one) wrestler you drafted (and did not trade for or pick up out of free agency), you may keep that wrestler at the expense of his draft spot minus 2 rounds. For example, if someone were to draft Joe Schmoe in the 7th round this year, they would be able to keep him in lieu of their 5th round pick the following year, and the 3rd round after that, and the 1st round after that. Wrestlers originally drafted in the first or second rounds are not eligible to be kept from year to year.

You must keep the wrestler on your roster the entire year if you want to keep him the following year.

Because it's a significant change to how the league operates, I'll require 8 "YES" votes to change it.

Not part of your league so I obviously won't vote but I love the idea. I think that I like that keeper rule a lot more than Jensen's.

I actually told Gold after I read this post that I like the look of this idea. Personally I'd probably modify it to a 3 or maybe even 4 round bump back in terms of the round number but as for the overall idea I like it.

I don't know if I'd introduce it this year (as it is if I did it would be a big benefit to Lost and I in particular). Even if we don't do it this year its something that I'll definitely present as an option for next year.

This is the way my fantasy football league operates with regards to keepers and it works great.

One question...Does the wrestler you keep have to be on your roster at the end of the year? In my fantasy football league you can keep a guy that you drafted but traded away throught the season and I think the rule sucks but thats the way the majority wants it. For example, would you have been able to keep McDonough because you drafted him even though you traded him to me and he was on my roster at the end of the season?

Yes, they have to be on your roster at the end of the year. Also, McDonough went undrafted, so he wouldn't be eligible.

Sounds like somebody isnt very secure with their masculinity. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The only issue I have on this keeper rule is, what about new fantasy players? Each year there will be turnover in who plays, do we need to worry about being fair to the new people playing. Can we decide on some type of compensation for new players, maybe an extra 4th round pick or something?
