I wasn't talking about using the facebook chat-ish feature. I'm talking about the "Chatroom" icon that's at the bottom of the screen on the left. It obviously wouldn't be fair for me to know everyone's pick ha.

People could post their picks on there when it's there turn and it's a lot quicker than refreshing this page. Then I could keep a list on here or on Google docs (which might be faster and easier).

Well that will never happen because if a guy took longer than 3(?) hours they get skipped.

I hadn't even realized there was a chatroom feature. That would be a great idea.

I didnt know there was a chat room feature either. I thought russ was talking about the "who's online" thing.

I guess I don't care how quick the draft goes. I enjoy the draft and I like the way we do it. Having a few hours to make our pick gives us a chance to also do our jobs, spend time with our families, watch college football and the Vikes, make dinner, go to the bathroom, play with the wife...It makes sense to do it this way. If we were all going to get together and make an evening of drinking and drafting I would have a different opinion, but since we are spread out all over the country I think it makes sense to take our time and do it right.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the way we do it...If it aint broke, don't fix it.

    HERK,
The only problem with the draft this year is VAIS has informed me he will not have as much time and neither will I this season . Last season I went through J's draft then helped Gold with his -then the connections broke down and VAIS luckily intervened and I still spent 7 straight days in front of this machine . Gold alone will take a month .
I also picked Thaxton's team and helped 3 others. I volunteered so I am NOT bitching just letting you know I am unavailable this season .

The draft does not take that long Russ. We don't need anyone to moderate the draft. You can see who's pick it is and what time that last pick was taken. If it has been three hours and the guy ahead of you hasnt taken his pick yet then you can go. It's not that hard.

As far as keeping track of who's been taken, it's all in the thread.

We don't need text messages to let us know who is up. As long as you can check your computer once every three hours, which most people can, it can be done without a "moderator."

No we don't "need" someone texting, but believe me it makes it go faster. I send a text, they text me their pick, i post it, I text the next person and so on. It is the way to do it.

You may not care how long it takes but you didn't contribute or help run it so really your opinion is slightly biased and uninformed.

I can possibly help some with contacting people but can't committ to everything.

yes, if you are willing to make texts and take texts it runs faster, but we allow enough time for it to take as long as it needs to without texts. So, if, as Russ said, you don't have time to do that this year, then it will still be fine because we will allow enough time to get the draft done before the season starts. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the time you and Russ put into it last year but my opinion is not uninformed because I didnt send texts to people. As I recall the only person who sent texts out two years ago was Zapp and the draft ran just as smooth as it did last year.
