I don't really care, though, and I don't think the rules say anything about it. Perhaps its something we should discuss as a league.
I think a league discussion makes sense.

IMO, the rules you had last year make things the most fair. It might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but take my Week 6 lineup decisions. I had Dave Marble, Mike Grey, Trevor Brandvold and Lamar Brown all wrestling multiple matches. I have no scheduled matches for my 184s or my Heavy. I chose to put Grey at 33, Marble flex, Brown at 97, Brandvold out. But if there are no rules about weights that guys are listed for, I guess I technically could have put Brandvold in at 84 or heavy to get them all in the lineup. Or maybe I am missing something completely.

By the way, I know Brandvold is likely out until Dec 11, but I was just using this as an example.

The way we did it last year was the wrestler had to wrestle the weight you have him slotted for in your lineup. For example. you could not slot Brandvold for HWT and get his points if he wrestles 197. He has to wrestle 197...Unless you have him as your flex. Then he can get points whatever weight he wrestles.

    I.... agree with Herkey?

This is the only sensible way to do it.

The way I set the rules up is that if you list Brandvold at 97 but then for whatever reason he bumps up to heavy and wins you would get those points.

I did that to get rid of people losing out on points because teams for strategy or whatever other reasons decide to bump guys up. If your guy bumps up in a dual and still wins for his team you get points.

However, if you list him at heavy and he wrestles 97...no points.

If Mytych has not certified yet or wrestled any matches at 125 -you should flex him Gold ,as no points should be alllowed as he has not wrestled 125 yet -you could list him at 133 with no problem or flex him -but as he has yet to wrestle 125 and is ranked at 33 -he is a 33 pounder .We have a similar situation with Barone -drafted at 184 but has yet to wrestle anything but 197 -so J is making him an 184 or a flex .
Who do you have at 33 now ? Can't you just flex him ?I have heard he wants to be at 25 but you can't assume he is a 125 until he certifies -flex him .

And then that led to Trust getting 30+ free points from Kinser last year until you finally accepted that he was going to be Indiana's starting 157 pounder and wouldn't make 149...

    And yeah, I know. Feist.

I would have to agree that it would acceptable if it was in reference to switching weights due to the coaches strategy.

Unless you are the assistant coach on the team there is just no way you can predict for that outside of being psychic!

Throwing guys in your empty slots is just "bush league."
