I was impressed at all the points you racked up but then saw all the opponents!

I was about to agree with Gold about only counting victories against DI opponents when I realized that all my Indiana wrestlers have the potential this week to rack just as many!

We'll all see who is right come March.

You made me fall off my chair laughing when you said the words Indiana and wrestlers one right after the other. Oh, it hurt to laugh that hard.

    Sorry Russ.

It wouldnt be right to dismiss teams on a schedule just because they are not DI. Every team wrestles some cupcakes at some point in the year. Usually at the beginning for a little practice.

Actually it's not schools like Iowa that would have been hurt--they wrestle plenty of D1 schools. It's the small D1 schools that wrestle mostly non-D1 schools that makes it unfair.

Having gone to HS in PA I would have laughed a few years ago too
    BUT
my Indiana roster has scored me 34 points in just 7 matches!
That's nearly a TF every time they step out on the mat so far. Granted 3 of those matches were against DIII but we're counting it right?

Iowa beat Coe College (39-3), Cornell College (57-0), Iowa Lakes Community College (52-0), University of North Carolina Pembroke (47-0) and Southern Illinois Edwardsville (51-0) @ the Iowa Duals.

I have no idea what each school is exactly but I would guess Coe is D3, Cornell D2, ILCC sounds like a JC, Pembroke has to be D2 as Edwardsville. How many schollys do D2 schools dish out? 4.5? 5.5? As far as I know D3 gives out zero for any sport.

Cupcakes? How about Girl Scout cookies! The Hawks would have gotten more of a workout going against the PA Dapper Dan team.

Maybe Brands wanted to give these other schools a measuring stick of where their kids were at. I think they all saw that they were well over their heads. Where's the challenge in that? Well you have to give them guts just for showing up.

Btw the Indiana Duals include a few cupcakes in Liberty, Cumberland, Chatanooga & South Dakota State but at least they have a decent D1 school in Northern Illinois & zero JCs. I'm hoping to give that 140 score you got this week a good run for it's money.

The DIII programs in the Iowa conference are tougher than snot. There are alot of kids that wrestle in it that could definately be DI wrestlers would give some DI teams a run for their money.

Iowa doesnt really need to test themselves in November. The rest of their schedule is tougher than any other schedule in DI wrestling. They have never and will never hide from anyone. Like I said before, they cant wrestle MN, OSU and Iowa St every time they step on the mat.

Most teams take it easy in their first competition of the season. That 140 will be tough to hit. Good luck.

No team can wrestle top 20 teams all the time that's true but if the Iowa DIII programs really were tougher then snot as you say I think that the scores would a bit better then 57-0.

BUT maybe Iowa is having a very GOOD year & the Iowa DIIIs are having an off year! Still they scheduled a JC. Thats beyond cupcake/creampuff!

I think I counted that my roster has 31 matches this week. To hit 140 I would have to hit 4.5 team points per match. That's asking a lot. Week 3 I had 75 points in 18 matches, (4.2 teams points avg). Week 4 is 70 points in 17 matches, (4.1 avg). At those rates I could expect to 127 if all cylinders are running.

My schedule is ALL on Saturday! Gonna be a FUN day!
