BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut - The U.S. government could collect billions of dollars in court-ordered restitution under a new divorce decree between imprisoned former Cendant Corp. chairman Walter Forbes and his wife of 27 years.

Judge Howard Owens issued a ruling Thursday that orders Forbes' ex-wife, Caren, to transfer ownership of homes in Connecticut and Rhode Island back to him, plus half of the couple's jewelry and art collections, the Connecticut Post reported.

The ruling allows the federal government and Cendant to attach liens to recover almost $3.3 billion to which the court says they are entitled.

With the actions of the major at fort hood and his pending trial, the military is faced with a tough situation. The military wants to accept everyone based on their word and clean background check but now that this has happened they might have to profile Muslim applicants. After the bombing of pearl harbor we know that Japanese Americans served in the military and the history channel has a story about that coming up, but we also confined them to internment camps in order to keep anything happening fro the inside. One difference that I see is that those Japanese were probably committed to the United states over Japan, I dont believe they felt allegiance to Japan. With Muslims their faith is number one priority like all other religions. The difference being that the extreme Islamic view could lead to acts like what happened at fort hood. Their could also be the attempt by Islamic extremist to plant moles or martyrs in the military to carry out these acts. Consider that this could be a real threat, the reaction of other service men might not be so kind to Muslim soldiers.

In light of these events should we profile Muslim applicants to the military or go further and no allow them to serve in order to avoid the threat. Or should we do nothing?

A friend of mine sent me this and I found it not only accurate, but also pretty funny. I thought I would run it through a liberal's mind and see if you find it accurate or funny.

If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, then no one should have one.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don't eat meat. If a liberal is, they want to ban all meat products for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life. If a liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal wants any mention of God or religion silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that his neighbors pay for his.

If a conservative reads this, he will find it funny and email it to his friends. A liberal will be offended.

Stalker starts the stalk:

I promise I won't tell, but just be honest. Are you really a man? Do you really feel the way you say on here? Or are you just trying to have fun by making retarded statements?

I can't believe that anyone who was born an American and has any idea about the Constitution could possibly feel the way you claim to.

I'm guessing you are joking or just a 12-year old fat kid.

12 year old fat kid says:

I'm Satan and I'm coming after you.

Stalker says:

That is funny. It confirms my thoughts. You are a 12-year-old fat kid. You see, child, Satan used wit and cunning to do his work. You just use curse-words and name calling. So, Satan you are not. Dumbass little kid, you are.

Hey, is dumbass little kid considered name calling? I can't believe a right wing robot would be a hypocrite. Shocked I tell ya-shocked!

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- The sudden end to a legal battle between dethroned Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant officials was prompted by the revelation of a "sex tape," according to a source familiar with the lawsuits' settlement.....

This is a surprising outcome to be honest. I would have thought all of the New England states would have laws supporting gay marriage. Looks like the voters of Maine had different ideas. They have not gone as far as AZ or CA passing constitutional amendments banning gay marriage, but I believe this sends the message that the people are not ready for it right now. Give it a few more years and the people of Maine will most likely fall in line with the rest of the New Englander's.

So New Jersey votes to unload this meatball that got elected to be governor 4 years ago.

4 PM I get another politicing phone call, this time my caller id says it's the NJ Democratic Committee. I decide to take the call just to hear what they have to say.

As our dear departed friend Arte Johnson would say....Verrrrrrry Interesting !

Nope the guy on the other end didn't push for Corzine, the Dem, he's pushing for Daggett an independent that put a huge dent in the Repubs projection in the pre-election polls. Actually he was the best candidate based on his ideas conveyed during the three way debate.

A Dem pushing for an Indy ? Why ? I called my neighbor who is a biggy in the District Republican Clan. Turns out the Dem Committee got the voter registration lists and targeted the republicans for the promo calls hoping to split the Republican vote.

If not for the Caller ID that identified the Dem Committee, I would not have known the source of the call since the guy never identified himself nor the group he was calling for.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091027/...ce_scientology

The Los Angeles-based Church of Scientology, founded in 1954 by the late science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, has been active for decades in Europe, but has struggled to gain status as a religion. It is considered a sect in France and has faced prosecution and difficulties in registering its activities in many countries.
.
The original complaint in the case dates back more than a decade, when a young woman said she took out loans and spent the equivalent of euro21,000 on books, courses and ''purification packages'' after being recruited in 1998. When she sought reimbursement and to leave the group, its leadership refused. She was among three eventual plaintiffs.

Investigating judge Jean-Christophe Hullin spent years examining the group's activities, and in his indictment criticized what he called the Scientologists' ''obsession'' with financial gain and practices he said were aimed at plunging members into a ''state of subjection.''
The Church of Scientology teaches that technology can expand the mind and help solve problems. It claims 10 million members around the world, including celebrity devotees Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

This was on the the radio today and i found it interesting and have never heard of it being brought up before. But I guess when the President has played 24 rounds of golf in a few months more than any other president in history, these things will be brought to light.

I dont really care about it because it seems that other first ladies have had the same benefit. I just want to know, why? Why in the hell do we need to have staff for the first lady who more useless than the VP. If they want a staff get back to the days as mentioned in the article where Eisenhower's wife had to foot the bill for her staff. make them pay for it, make them insure them, instead of letting us do it.

And the poll on CNN's main page right now is "Would you pay $4.95 to attend a motivational speech by President George W. Bush?" 69% (244,675 people) said no!

October 22, 2009

From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

George W. Bush wants to help people 'Get Motivated!'.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former President George W. Bush has a new speaking gig.

Bush will be featured as the "special guest speaker" at an October 26 "Get Motivated!" business seminar in Fort Worth, Texas, according to an announcement on the organization's Web site.

Tamara Lowe, the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Get Motivated Seminars, Inc., said in a phone interview that the former president will appear live and in person at the upcoming event. Lowe estimated that Bush will speak for roughly 20 minutes. Lowe also said that the company has all the necessary safety precautions in place to host a former president.

Bush's former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani are set to join Bush at the October 26 event.

The former president is also scheduled to participate in another "Get Motivated!" seminar in San Antonio, Texas on December 2, according to the company's Web site.

"For a limited time only," the Web site says, tickets are available to the October and December events for $4.95 per person or $19 for a group.

CNN is awaiting confirmation from a representative of the former president about the scheduled appearances at the seminars.

He is my president. He told us he will be everybodies president and that he will try to win our support. I felt ready to support him in healing our nation. But as of recent, he is spending more energy trying to divide us than he is fighting Al Qaida.

I was very disappointed to hear him give his partisan comments about how open minded democrats are and how the other side do as they are told. This is not the first time he has taken pot shots at opposition. Is this guy trying to break every record for fastest drop in political support? Does he not understand that many on the "otherside" are moderates? So many that McCain was won the primary as a statement? And all this Fox News whining and this hard ball actions toward other groups who are not agreeing with every policy. I am sorry, but I think our president has really taken a step down domestically. At least in my book.

I thought the president is suppose to be above these things, and if nothing else, at least use their minions to do their dirty work. But to hear these devisive words coming out of his mouth over and over. Its sad.
