My wife says I have a man-crush on Ironside. He's my all-time favorite Hawk. I saw one of the high school matches the article mentions between Mark and Jeff McGinness and at that stage of their careers McGinness was clearly the better wrestler. Mark went to Iowa and if anyone ever worked harder than he in the Hawkeye room, I don't know who it might have been - maybe the Brands brothers. I have heard the stories of how Ironside would have Terry Brands ride him endlessly until Mark could get out from under anyone in the country.
