How could you have inferred otherwise? I may be a jerk, but I'm not that nasty, for God's sake!

I have copied the folllowing from the Blair Wrestling website. It mentions a Fundraiser for Adam in August back here in NJ. Most of the readers of this forum no doubt live too far to attend this function, but all of us can help Adam and his family by sending a donation or buying a ticket to the function(it amounts to the same thing.) It is no secret that the financial burden awaiting his family in this second go-round will be staggering. Adam is one of us, is one of the "good guys" from a loving and religious family and as we are all part of his larger wrestling family in the best sport ever invented, can and should help whenever a crisis looms.
Please buy a ticket, send in a donation( instructions on this are posted on his blog on adamfrey.us) and if possible ask any wrestling fans you know to do the same. Adam and his family in the past four months have shown so much guts, courage and strength that the least we can do is try to make his life and their lives a little easier. If all you can do for him is pray, I know that he and his family would appreciate that too. God's will be done. Adam Frey Cancer Fundraising Event Outdoor Tented Event on August 16, 2008 in Somerset, NJ. $50.00/ticket... All You Can Eat & Drink! Music, Special Events, Raffles, Moon Bounces (17 & under are FREE) Each Ticket Entitles You a Chance To Win the Following Prizes: • 1st Prize: 37" Flat Screen TV • 2nd Prize: $250.oo Gas Card • 3rd Prize: Assorted Wine Basket (must be 21 to claim) FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT: 908-239-2826 All proceeds to be donated to The Adam Frey Fund

a. germ cell testicular cancer has a 100% cure rate if caught before mestastasis(surgery + light chemo).
b. front line chemotherapy is sufficient in treating 70-80%. this usually happens over a 2 year period.
c. resistance to chemotherapy is VERY bad. a 5 year survival curve for people in this group is about 70%, 70% of them make it 5 years pass diagnosis. but this group are almost never cancer free, which means chemo at a regular interval, which means they'll either succumb to the cancer or something else.
d. the location and size of the turmors makes me think a tumor ressection operation is not really feasible, therefore , he will need a miracle in terms of a chemo regiment that will work. the recurrence of the disease is in line with my guess that there was either no surgery or only incompletely tumor ressection was possible.
e. sloan-kettering has one of the best established chemo regiment for recurring germ cell cancers. 60% surivival rate over four years but the mean survival period is 18 months.
f. good look to adam and his friends and family.
/not an oncologist, but i play one in my dreams

Adam Frey's cancer has grown back. hopefully his story is raising awareness about the diseases, especially in forums like this. most of the readers of this board are in the demographics often afflicted with testicular cancer...male, age 14-35.
Check your body parts on a regular basis, once a week? it'll take you no more than a minute and it can save your life. also, there is nothing wrong with going to the doctor if something does not feel right. males should not have regular abdominal pains...abdominal pain means you need to get your appendix removed or there is something wrong with your testis.
I dont know if there has been any studies done on this but i am pretty sure athletic males are probably more proned testicular cancer. Also, the things we put in our bodies to augment workouts, and weight training are probably like fertilizer for these kind of cancer. again no scientific studies has been done on this but taking supplements to boost testosterone production, or using vasodilators to augment blood flow during exercise can potentially feed cancerous tumors as well.
