I can think of a certain wrestler from MSU who recently competed for an Olympic spot who has some weird accusations against him.

Beautifully stated. I think it's a bit naive to take credit. Kids don't look to wrestling as the quick way out of a bad situation and into big riches. If our sport had the same financial rewards that the money sports do, you'd find the "untoward characters" (Nice vocabulary, Blue!) popping up in the news.

Unfortunately I know of more than a few wrestlers with reckless or criminal behavior. If wrestlers made the same kind of money that basketball and football make, believe me, you would hear about it more.

I know many of wrestlers who were jerks, and meatheads who have been arrested for a variety of reasons, started fights at the drop of a hat and overall were not good people. As big said wrestlers are not nearly as high profile so you are just not as likely to hear about it.
