Northwestern's Jake Herbert posted a 1-2 record at Sunday's U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Las Vegas to end his quest for a spot on the United States Olympic Team. Herbert, who took an Olympic redshirt last season to train and compete in international events leading up to the trials, will return to the Wildcats for 2008-09 to pursue his second NCAA title.

I don't fault him but I do question his timing very seriously. Northwestern would have possibly been a top 3 team with him in the lineup and I feel that he really let down some seniors on that team and coaches.

ryan langs' injuries and weight problems weren't gonna be better if herbert was in the line up

I think Jake might have been missing the college regiment. He seems to have taken a misstep. I'm sure we'll see him back on top of his game next year.

I seem to remember hearing that Herbert was moving up to 97 this season. Can anyone confirm or deny that with certainty?
