This isn't correct. It isn't about opportunities but about outcomes. Offering 30 roster spots for softball only helps men's teams if 30 athletes FILL those slots. If only 20 show up then men's numbers have to be decreased accordingly. In essence men's participation is limited by women's interest.

Regarding football, in many ways there ARE three genders in campus athletics; men, women, and football. No other sport has the high school participation, numbers on campus teams, or people that show up to support the team by paying to sit in a stadium.

Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would reach or what he is given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known that I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
-You've made your decision then?
-Not remotely! Because Iocane comes from Australia. As everyone knows, Australia is entirely peopled with criminals. And criminals are used to having people not trust them as you are not trusted by me. So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.
-Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.
-Wait 'til I get going! Where was I?
-Australia.
-And you must have suspected that I would have known the poison's origin, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!
-You're just stalling now.
-You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? You've beaten my giant, which means that you're exceptionally strong...so you could have put the poison in your own cup, depending on your strength to save you, so clearly I cannot choose the wine in front of you. But you've also bested my Spaniard, which means you must have studied and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal, so you wouldhave put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
-You're trying to trick me into giving away something. It won't work.
-It has worked! You've given everything away! I know where the poison is!

INCONCEIVABLE!

DUDE-you have watched the Princess Bride about a 100 times too many . People often resort to sylogism as a last resort and you may say ''it is how title ix is interpretated '' or whatever -but the fact that the first thing people think of when another program bites the dust is TITLE IX should tell you all you need to know '
I wrote my Term Paper for my HPER minor at IU on T IX , I stated then that it would be the death knell for non revenue sports , and those sports are falling .

Personally , I think all sports should be intramural and let the kids get on with getting an education . That way the NCAA couldn't get involved and if you really wanted to prove your basketball team is the best in the land -let the Mafia pay for it -their the ones profiting from both ends .

Remember the first sport to bite the dust has as fine a history as wrestling -Men's gymnastics.

Some seem to want to shift the focus away from Title IX...for political reasons. Including it seems the AD at ASU.

Only an ideologue cant see the connection between the implementation of Title IX and the wholesale slashing of men's collegiate sports.

Does anyone really belive that Lisa Love is going to blame Title IX? Or not defend it.
