Same general coaching philosophy as Pat Santoro. That's how we (alumni and close boosters) also felt. We need someone with the energy and drive to sustain the momentum created by Pat Santoro.

He was the first choice of the current team members.

I agree with everyone else - great pickup for Maryland and great fit for McCoy. Hopefully this doesn't affect the great strides Stanford wrestling has been making.
