Just for the heck of it -Caldwell transfers to Rutgers to play football odds say he will never see 149 again -so now we have Scott Winston and Darrion Caldwell wrestling off for 157 ? The kid Rutgers has now won 17 matches last year -ya think he is just going to roll over ?
Do you really think Winston is a big challenge for Caldwell at this point?
As I've mentioned several times -all these all world H.S. kids are in for a rude awakening when they get to college . As good as Andrew Howe is he only beat Paul Young [IU's back-up 157 lber ]4-3 in MSU open consi's . Caldwell will dominate Winston
Chris Norrell was at 157 and had a 16-18 record. You have to figure Melde, Caldwell and Winston will move a weight class, 149.157, 165, so there won't be any conflicts. Norrell is soph out of Phillpsburg, a top NJ wrestling town. He'll give Caldwell a run for the starting position.
^^^I would guess that if Darrion Caldwell transfers to Rutgers, that Calwell redshirts the '09 season and the 2010 lineup is Nick Menditto at at 149, Caldwell at 157, and Scott Winston at 165.
Winston is great but I doubt he is Damion Hahn great. Hahn teched everyone his senior year at states. Also, Hahn was beating NCAA champions and placing at Senior Nationals in freestyle while still in high school. Winston did not place at FILA Juniors. Winston is more like Nik Fekete great.
