Make it three. Grady Penniger, who wrestled at Oklahoma State and was coach at Michigan State, said Dan Hodge was "stronger than a field of garlic."
Gary Kurdelmeier, Big Ten/NCAA champ for Iowa (later the Hawkeye head coach), wrestled Hodge a couple times... and was pinned each time. He talked about having black-and-blue marks on his arms after wrestling the Sooner, from Hodge's incredible grip. "You didn't sleep too well before wrestling Hodge" said Kurdelmeier, who was certainly a stud in his own right.
