On the other hand, women's lacrosse will soon have over 90 programs at the Division I level!! Too bad I never had an in-depth talk with Levick during the months she spent at Maryland.....
Cheryl Levick begins a new chapter in her career during the worst economic climate in recent history. She started as AD at Georgia State Univ. on March 30. On the agenda: rolling out a new football program, adding women's sports and securing funds for these programs. Staff Writer Theresa Manahan spoke with Levick recently.
Q: You just signed a five-year contract with GSU. How many years do you think it will take to make the football program (starting in 2010) successful?
Levick: Developing a football program in the right way with the right funding is a slow and steady progress. You need to have incremental benchmarks to achieve. We want to do it correctly. We want to recruit correctly. We want to be able to fund it correctly. I believe that it will just be hitting full throttle at the end of the fifth year......
Q: What are the women's sports being considered with the addition of football?
Levick: Women's lacrosse will be one of the sports added. From there we need to look at what the interests are of the students on this campus. Are there some club sports that we could raise to varsity level? That will determine what other sports we add.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.
