This may have been done. (I'm pretty new to the group) This year Coleman Scott finally won after coming so close for three years. And Davis was a three-timer before winning. Some guys, however, aren't so fortunate. As great as they may have been, for one reason or another they never set foot on that championship stand. Who is the best wrestler who never took home the championship. My personal pick is Mike DeAnna from Iowa. He was a four-time Big Ten champ, but always came up short at the NCAA. He beat Mark Churella for the Big Ten championship in one of the greatest matches of all time. Churella then pinned him at the NCAA.
There may be others more deserving, but DeAnna always has stuck with me, being a longtime Hawkeye fan. |

Recent guys who may or may not be the "best" but deserve consideration:
Sam Hazewinkel, John Trenge, Jake Percival (gets a nod from me as a fellow bobcat, but also because being a 4x AA in the weights he was in is an amazing feat) |

Nick Simmons is up there for me but just from a recent stand point as well as Sam Hazewinkel.

Hard to argue against Haze, but I don't know enough about the old-timers to be objective. Anyone know Haze's career record/stats?

Tann in the last couple of years and as for oldtimers, Fehrs of Mich who lost 3 times in the finals to Caruso. Think of that, except for one guy, he would have been a 3 time champ.
