Ness Weighs 146!!!

Cutting too much weight or cutting your weight drastically just before a match impairs your endurance. Anyone who has cut knows that sucking for air in the 3rd isn't fun. Watch Bubba Jenkins in some of his bouts this year. I'm convinced he's was cutting tons just before weigh in. I suspect Ryan Lang put on too much weight during the off-season and he had a problem getting down to 149, never mind 141.

If you are technically sound, have strength and mind your nuitrition, a great wrestler will succeed at his proper weight.

Nick Roy struggled wrestling to his reputation for 3 years at Michigan. He was always ranked in the top eight yet he never A_Ad. Hs last year he bumps to 197 - 25lb, 2 weight classes and A-As. In reality that should not happen, but it did. It suggests cutting too much weight means cutting strength and endurance.

How they handle cutting seems to vary with the guy really. Some guys thrive when cutting a lot, then it doesn't work out to well for some others.

I've said through out I think Ness just does fine at 133, he's a much more versatile wrestler than just a half nelson demon that does nothing but use his length to take people over. Then as I noted in the thread again Zach Sanders just finished up a 23-1 redshirt year, not to mention his recent freestyle success.

I'll definitely take a Sanders/Ness bottom end.

I was convinced that Bubba was just lazy and never really got into shape and only relies on talent to get him by.

agreed. I was hopeing for a top 5 finish in the big Ten for Zach. He will take some lumps but the kid is special and a AA finish would be real nice but I would have to think that will be a stretch to do that out of the gate

One can debate on how much it means, but strictly record wise Sanders was better as a redshirt than Ness was.

I like sanders chances. Remember that dolan beat zach largely by riding the piss out of him, you dont have many guys better at riding at 125 then Jayson Ness.

Escabado is one of those guys. Dolan beat Zach by 4-1 at a exhibition match and was larger than Zach. The D&D classic means very little. A week later Zach won Sr, Nationals where was Dolan then? He couldn't make it to Virgina Beach for that? Or was his weight alittle high to make 119? Because if he weighed 119(even with allowances) at the Dapper Dan classic I am Jesus Christ
