I was thinking about it a year or so ago.

Funny, I wrestled Dave in the finals of the Master's division of a local Screen Door Open a few years ago.....at 200 lbs. And I had to lose a couple of pounds to do that! Oh yeah, and the latex in singlets now-a-days, well, it wasn't a pretty picture!

He told my wife he never imagined we'd ever be in the same weight class! Actually we weren't, I was just fat! Dave and I were old summer tournament buddies from back in the day, he'd go Hwt and I usually went about 150 in the off season!!

I've lost about 40 to 50 pounds since then and, like I said, was thinking of competing in some Veterans tournaments, but I had a surgery last year that I think stuck a fork in that idea. Maybe the AARP Open?

I congratulate any efforts by any of you to get back on the mats. Good luck. Be sure to stretch alot before and soak alot after.

WrestlingTerp, an AARP Open is a great idea but only if we can wear those padded sumo suits. The injury recovery time is just to darned long at my age to give it any serious consideration.

Recovery time is measured in weeks, not days!!

Actually, the last time I entered a tournament I ended up with a couple of broken ribs. Recovery time was measured in months in that case!!
