One, two, Evans is coming for you...
If Jenkins knew he had to wrestle Metcalf only for 4 minutes he would never lose. He would take him down twice and then fight like hell for a minute and a half. Think about it 4 minutes is only first period and half of the second in college.
In freestyle you can wrestle only for 4 minutes if you win both periods.

Vak Metcalf had his chance at Jr. Worlds and got pinned by the Iranian. Bubba won it.
All we know right now is that Metcalf is a better collegiate wrestler. Freestyle is a different game.
Did they wrestle the same guys? No. As near as I've been told, Bubba wasn't exactly wrestling in a very deep weight, whereas Metcalf was in a deeper bracket. Not to mention that Metcalf has wrestled Freestyle against many top guys, both U.S. and in the Clansmen and done very well for himself in Freestyle.

C'mon. That's like saying "if only he could come up with the ideal conditions he would win."
Everyone plays by the rules. Everyone wrestles the same amount of times. It's been that way for a long time. That's what everyone trains for.
If Jenkins can only be good for the 1st 4 minutes of a 7 minute match then he has to expect to lose. Period.
I agree that Metcalf has amazing stamina, and he definitely is an amazing athlete. I also agree, however, that if Bubba hadn't made some interesting comments when a mic was shoved in his face just minutes after he lost in the NCAA finals we wouldn't be bashing him! The fact is, Bubba Jenkins did something that most of us on this forum never did...he performed in the NCAA FINALS. He got beat, and had to be lower on the podium, but he was still very high on that podium. I had the chance to watch him in High school, and I had a chance to be a coach on the National Team in Fargo where he was competing, and I can testify that this kid is an amazing athlete!
This forum is so much better than others because typically people have great and very informed opinions that don't put people down. Please give credit where credit is due. The kid made it to the NCAA Finals and didn't make a fool of himself...he said something that he probably wishes he could take back from his college's local paper. Come on people...the horse is dead!!!! Quick beating it!
