Hey tash, cool it a bit. I have to defend NJ for too much dirt already. Scotty will have his day. It's always better to lay back and then just smile. Besides these gents will have you breakfast, lunch and dinner at some point.

Everyone should take note of how poorly jumping up classes can be -look at Coughlin from IU-he was great at 149 but was a waste at 165 this year .

All I can say is that if Schlatter moves up away from Metcalf, it would be the worst PR move he could make. No matter if won a national title in dominating fashion people would always question him and say he moved up because he knew he couldnt beat Metcalf. His body may make him move up and some if not most people wont understand and assume that he is running. I also dont think he really cares what everyone thinks but it would get old hearing all of the doubters all of the time.

There are also examples of guys that it worked well for. In recent years these guys have bumped up a weight class or 2 and done pretty well at their new weight. Both Churella's, Tannenbaum, Luke, Herbert, Tamillow, Caldwell, Glenn, Mendes, Gomez....

At the 2007 NCAAs, 5 of the champs (Valenti, Moore, Paulson, Herbert, Glenn) bumped up weight from the beginning of their careers...

At the 2006 NCAAs, 5 of the champs (Valenti, Cherrington, Hendricks, Webster, Rosholt) bumped up weight from the beginning of their careers...

At the 2005 NCAAs, 6 of the champs (Lee, Esposito, Hendricks, Pendleton, Jones, Rosholt) bumped up a weight from the beginning of their careers...

I was checking out a few things and couldn't believe some of the studs Coughlin beat at 149 . Including Jordan Leen. He could've handled 157 but couldn't beat Becker .
