Here were my 07-08...hit 3 out of 4.

1 Minnesota would NOT have a NCAA champion-(everyone laughed)-ON
2 Iowa would kick ass! (everyone...not this year, but maybe the following)-ON
3 I would NOT make dumb bets with Gof-I won Beer Bet II-ON
4 Oregon State would finish top 10-I expected Watterson to get his hardship year and Barnes be a threat-Way off.

My 08-09 Predictions......see above and add Glasser earns his first AA honors and Graff does the same as a true freshman.

Next year

1. Vallimont if Metcalf is not the same weight class will be an NCAA Champ.

2.Hudson Taylor may have as a worthy rival next year his former Blair teammate Jared Platt who redshirted at Penn State this season.Though Platt wrestled at 215 in prep school he is a 190 lber ar best,that is if he is healthy and doesn't decide to drop down to 184.

3. I will go out on a limb and predict Adam Frey will get his weight and his head under control and will have a much better season next year.

4.Though a few final decisions are still to be made, Maryland will field a team next season half of whom are Blair Academy grads. Remember Santoro wrestled there as a PG.

5. The best freshman next season in my view will be Jason Welch.

6.Look for the ACC to get at least 4 more slots at the big dance next March.

7. Strobel will be in trouble if he doesn't have a banner recruiting year. Maryland and Rutgers are taking guys who 5 years ago would have wanted to go to Lehigh.

8.Look for a major Texas school to start a D1 program within 2 years.

9. Alex Meade will start next year for OK. State.

10.What happens to the Pac 10 if another school drops wrestling? With the existing talent in California alone they should be adding programs. O Tempora,O Mores, O Title IX!!!!!

look for caldwell to go 157lbs and win the title

- Ness will move up to 133 next year, he may drop one or two during the regular season, but he'll be back in the finals next year, and he'll win his first NCAA title. Dustin will regroup this summer, stay healthy next year, and be back in the finals.

- Minnesota AA's at least two from the crew of the Sanders/Saf/Glasser/Yohn grouping.

- Minnesota will be solid, but not spectacular in duals.

- Robles AA's, and as was mentioned earlier gets our sport a ton of coverage.

- Nickerson doesn't miss a beat, and is top 3 next year be it at 25, or 33.

- Max Askren finally makes his way to the finals.

- Alex Meade AA's if he wrestles as a true freshman for the boys in Orange.

- Last one for now. The NCAA team title will be won by a team in Iowa next year with an Olympic gold medalist as a head coach. That team will reside in Ames.

- At least four posters insinuate that I'm biased, or an "Iowa hater" after reading this post.

2008-2009 early Minnesota predictions

Ness moves to 133 and dominates and goes to NCAA finals again.

Making room for Sanders at 125 and he makes AA with a 5th place finish.

Mack continues to recover from old injury AND pins Slaton in Big Ten Tourney (only to be beaten by Slaton in NCAA finals).

Minn wins 90%+ of matches 165lbs and lower but only 50% of weight classes above that

Roger Kish runs for governor...and wins!
