Default Finals Injury Results...

Does anyone have any information as to the results of the injuries that took place in the finals. The Ohio State wrestlers ankle, and Perry's knee?

The ankle seemed intentional on behalf of the guy from Cal Poly. But the replay of the injury to Perry you could see he took Tannenbaums post away bring weight across his knee.

Both wrestlers showed tremendous heart to finish the matches.

Is there any news as to the injuries of Jaggars and Perry? Was it really as bad as they initially thought?

For what it's worth, I saw Perry limping around pretty badly in downtown St. Louis on Sunday morning.

I also heard yesterday that Churella had a broken rib throughout the tournament

It was also mentioned that JP O'Connor wrestled his last three bouts with a torn MCL, with surgery possible this week. Can anyone confirm?

I heard there was a guy wrestling there with only one leg! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Jaggers himself claimed that it was a high ankle sprain, but that he could feel it grinding and popping for a few seconds. He did not hold any ill will toward his opponent or blame the injury on him. Jaggers indicated that they were both trying to win.

If you watch a lot of scramble situations, like the one that they were in, wrestlers often will hold a leg AND a foot in order to prevent the opponent from turning to get andvantage. This is exactly what happened in this situation. Jagger's own body movement put additional stress on the joint to the point where it gave.

Fox claimed to have a broken nose from the incidental headbutt at heavyweight. That injury was as much due to the faulty headgear as anything.

Take a look at the photos of the top finishers at each weight class (DH provided some great photos) and most of them look like they have been through a meat grinder. Lots of scrapes, stitches, cuts, bruises, mat burns and black eyes. What a group of wrestling warriors!

It was the toughest NCAA's that I have ever seen. It was brutal. Nick Fanthorpe from Iowa State got seven stitches after the tourney, and his opponent got ten!!! I am glad to hear that Jaggars felt that there was no "ill intentions" because it really looked like he wrenched it pretty good.

Oh and the guy with one leg... Did he happen to lose it in his match at Nationals? Maybe Mendez was trying to help him find a new one!
