We'll have to see if he can get by Varner first. Then Pucillo.

Just an FYI, but Herbert had knee surgery and only had about a week of training before the Midlands. All things considered he did pretty well. I am sure he will be just fine next year. One thing for sure, he won't stand around and stall, he will get after it.

He should make the weight class pretty exciting

He's gonna have 2 very tough kids to beat when he comes back.....Pucillo in his own conference and Varner who beat him pretty convincingly in the finals of the Midlands.

When he finished last year, I didn't think that anyone could touch him, now I think he has competition

Pucillo is extremely Technically sound, altho his match with the oversized Varner didn't allow him to open up as much offense as he usually does he won that match by not giving up anything. Plus not a man on this earth can hold him down for more than 20 seconds at a time.

Expect Pucillo to be leaner, better on top and have another tournament just as impressive as this one.

Varner did not beat him convincingly... it was an OT win... not exactly domination. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely rooting for Pucillo to win 2 more titles, I just think Herbert is the man to beat.

Counter TD off a botched freestyle arm throw in OT is definitely not a convincing win for Varner over Herbert. That being said, it would be great to see them both in the same weight next year.

Any chance Varner goes up to 197?
