| Re: All-American's and Finalists by State Ya that's pretty cool to see Ohio on top but not really a surprise. PA and OH are always neck and neck. With Ohio State now a real team they are getting the best of the Ohio recruits which should really make these numbers more common.
Oh ya and I saw that NJ had 8 also on another site, not a big deal |

My Mood: | Re: All-American's and Finalists by State Very interesting. On a market share basis, the states of Iowa and Ohio win. Using U.S. Census data and simple division, we can see that Iowa's AA market share / million of population wins @ 2.0. The same analysis is done for Ohio with finalists; they win @ .435. | State | PopM | # AA | # Finalist | PerCapAA | PerCapFinalist | | | | | | | | OH | 11.5 | 9 | 5 | 0.783 | 0.435 | | PA | 12.4 | 8 | 3 | 0.645 | 0.242 | | MI | 10.1 | 8 | 3 | 0.792 | 0.297 | | NJ | 8.7 | 7 | 0 | 0.805 | 0.000 | | IL | 12.8 | 6 | 2 | 0.469 | 0.156 | | IA | 3 | 6 | 1 | 2.000 | 0.333 | | CA | 36.5 | 5 | 2 | 0.137 | 0.055 | | NY | 19.3 | 4 | 0 | 0.207 | 0.000 | | MN | 5.2 | 3 | 1 | 0.577 | 0.192 | | TN | 6 | 3 | 1 | 0.500 | 0.167 | | WI | 5.6 | 3 | 0 | 0.536 | 0.000 | |

I read somewhere that 79% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Oh ya and I saw that NJ had 8 also on another site, not a big deal | I hope Ohio State's recruiting kicks in soon, because the last two years three of their four AAs were Hellickson recruits. (Jaggers, Bergman & Palmer only Pucillo being a Ryan recruit.) |

| I asked this question several years ago. I know Pa has great success in wrestling, but I saw where they have almost half the amount of HS wrestlers that Ohio did. With the greater population and the popularity of the sport there, shouldn't they have more wrestlers than they do? |
